This year's exhibition is titled "The Arts of the Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties." It will feature a gathering of artworks created over the approximately 400 years from the beginning of the 3rd to the end of the 6th centuries. The Wei, Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties saw a succession of states rise and fall, in an often dizzying change of ruling houses. Indeed, it was a time of violent fragmenting and confusion. But the artworks born amidst these conditions are filled with a distinctive, richly creative and vital aesthetic. We were fortunate enough to have assembled a selection of works that provide a chance to show this entire time frame as a single group.
