An Exhibition of the Arts of the Tang Dynasty presents artwork from China's Tang dynasty, focusing on ceramics. As is well known, the great Tang dynasty spanned three centuries. Excavations at various sites in Japan indicate that large numbers of artworks were brought to Japan during the Tang dynasty, indicating the close and pervasive connection between continent at the time. In addition, Tang ceramics have formed one of the central genres in the modern era's collecting of Chinese ceramics. Beguiling art lovers worldwide, the collecting of Tang ceramics continues to flourish today, enjoying particularly high regard in Japan.
